Wake Up Like a Dog
Do I have any dog lovers out there? You can count me as one. Dogs are delightful and provide so much enrichment to our lives. I have 2… Buster is a 17-year-old Shih-Tzu and Ivy is a 5-year-old Border Collie / Lab Mix.
This morning at 5:50am I heard Buster’s familiar scratch on the door that initiates the countdown to pee on my carpet. I rolled out of bed to the bang, bang, bang of Ivy’s tail clanging on her kennel. I gathered my robe, (no time for socks… the countdown is very short), let Ivy out and we made the processional toward the back door. Despite this being a daily ritual, I took particular notice of how exuberant Ivy is when she wakes up. It’s on my radar every day because she gets a little dangerous when excited, in that she has long claws and hasn’t quite learned to control herself. But it hit me today that she is fully refreshed and excited to start the day. She is eager to share love and joy form the moment her eyes open. There’s no complaining that she wasn’t ready to get up, or that she didn’t sleep well, or the temperature of the room was off. No, she starts with a clean slate and is joyful and full of love to share.
I think I noticed this today because this is a lesson I need to learn. You know that old saying, “when the student is ready, the teacher will come.”? I think I’m ready to learn that kind of happiness. That way of looking at each new day as an opportunity to spread love and joy with forgiveness in my heart.
There’s no baggage holding her back. She perceives the world as a happy place, where she is safe to be herself. All her needs are met and her sole job is to love and serve others. What an inspiration!! To think, that it’s been happening right under my nose (or feet in this case) for years and I never took note of it.
I encourage you to look at your surroundings. What or who can spark inspiration to teach you today? Should I start a Dog Blog to keep track of these lessons? If you have any insights from your Canine companions, please reach out and share.

<![CDATA[Confirmation bias and Yabuts]]>Fri, 16 Sep 2022 01:41:19 GMThttp://bodaciousenlightenment.com/blog/confirmation-bias-and-yabutsPicture
Scientists have written about the dangers of confirmation bias… the concept that you will get the results of an experiment that you expect to see. We’ve even discovered that human intervention by way of intent will also influence the outcome of the experiment. So is confirmation bias really another way to explain the Law of Attraction?
This is so impactful because it means if you expect bad things, i.e.,… “I’m not good enough, no one will hire me”, etc. then you will experience confirmation bias throwing you into a negative energy cycle. The more you expect bad outcomes, the more they show up and by showing up, you believe it more.
So how do we bust out of this cycle with your self beliefs or beliefs about others. The trick is to use your childlike gift of imagination. What if yourself. What if _________ was true? For some, it might be that they can’t imagine it. If this is you, then use baby steps to get there. If you can’t picture it in your mind, it can’t manifest in the physical world either.
Next listen to the yabuts. After you picture the beautiful car, new house, great job, perfect companion – what yabuts show up? Those are the doubtful statements that start with “Yeah, but…”. They are the window to your confirmation bias. Turn it around. If your yabut is I’ll never have enough money to afford that then play around with experimenting with a confirmation bias that it does. List all the ways money comes to you, or better yet, all of the ways it could come to fruition… the lottery, a gift etc.
The following step is to ask yourself where did the yabut come from? When did you start believing that? Chances are you were very young, in a very different situation, or someone’s saddled you with it. Investigate to see if that belief is serving your life. If not, then cast it off and choose a belief that does.

<![CDATA[What is eft?]]>Mon, 12 Sep 2022 22:11:33 GMThttp://bodaciousenlightenment.com/blog/what-is-eftPicture
I witness a lot of people shake their heads when I ask them if they have tried EFT. I get more recognition when I ask if they have ever used tapping. I am embarking on a new journey to become an EFT practitioner. It is a fantastic alternative to traditional western medicine for symptoms of pain, fatigue, anxiety and PTSD. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. It involves tapping on your body's meridians (energy pathways... think acupuncture without needles) along with guided, customized mantras to help you clear out negative emotions. This clearing allows you to make better choices that align with your current situation rather than being held captive by old beliefs and experiences that no longer serve you. I created a little Doodle video to help explain more.
